Prayer concern and update

Friends,

You may or may not know that Kevin Yerkes, who owns our cleaning company, underwent quadruple bypass heart surgery on Saturday, March 31. According to reports, the surgery went well, and today he was sitting up in a chair. Please continue to pray for his recovery.

Blessings,

Erin

Prayer request updates

Friends,

Ann Lewis remains in Golden Care in Hope. She will probably be there for two weeks (until March 5). If you wish, cards may be sent to:

Ann Lewis

2001 South Main

Hope, AR   71801

Visiting hours are odd, so if you would like to visit, please contact Pastor Erin first (870-390-9244 or pastorerinkaye@gmail.com) and she will explain them to you.

Matt Lyles reports good news on several fronts – his hearing issues from last week (which he feared were side effects from the chemo treatment) appear to have been cold related and are slowly going away. Also, he met with a surgeon regarding the implant in his arm, and it will be ok for several more months – one less surgery for the immediate future.

Please continue to pray for Ann and her family (especially daughter, Pam) and for Matt and his family (especially his parents, Wayne and Teena).

Blessings.

Erin

Prayer Concern

Friends,

Please pray for Ann Lewis. She was taken to Hope Golden Care (part of the Hope hospital system) yesterday afternoon. Her knee is doing well (following her knee replacement surgery), but she is having some bouts of confusion. Hopefully she will be there for 2 weeks and will return to Silver Oaks to complete her therapy.

Please also pray for Ann’s daughter Pam as she seeks to make the best choices for Ann and to do that from out of state.

Blessings,

Erin

Prayer concerns

Friends,

Several prayer concerns for us all to remember.

Sue Hansen asks that we continue to pray for her as she works through various health issues.

Bethany Beshear was hospitalized last week in Benton for some medication issues, and was starting to do better, but has regressed somewhat. Please pray for Beth and for her doctor, that right choices will be made and good medication found for her needs.

Susan Bensberg is struggling with pain from a pinched nerve. Please pray that she will receive relief.

Don Grillo’s mother, Allie (who is 91, by the way!), had heart surgery this past Friday. She is doing well.

Don Grillo will have surgery on his back on Wednesday in Little Rock. Please keep him and the surgeons in your prayers.

Ann Lewis will have knee replacement today in Little Rock. Please pray for her as she undergoes surgery and begins recovery.

Blessings,

Erin

Prayer Concern

Friends,

Matt Lyles posted the following update on his Carepages website:

Cycle 2 begins

Posted 14 hours ago

After waiting for lab work I met with the oncologist around noon. He had very good news for me — all bloodwork in safe levels (white count good, red slightly lower but safe; kidney function okay; no negative indicators). I asked him if this is typical of someone beginning the second cycle. He said that my situation (especially given a previous round of Cisplatin 20 years ago) is better than average.

No matter what happens later, I’m thankful for this good news now! Thanks So Much for your prayers, friends!

Then came several hours in the infusion center. Today the treatment consisted of Cisplatin combined with Gemzar. I’m thankful to report no ill effects during treatment or — so far — afterward.

Knowing how cold the weather would be turning, I contacted the manager at Block 2 and asked if one of the staff would turn up my heat (which I forgot to do before leaving for work this morning. Apparently someone did. I walked in from near freezing air (with an even colder wind blowing) into a toasty warm apartment. (They’re good people here at Block 2!)

After getting a bite to eat I’ll probably settle down to sleep. Tomorrow is another day, someone sometime said.

Good night, Scarlett!

Jim Fultz passed from this life to life eternal yesterday, December 31. There will be a visitation Monday, January 2, at Proctor Funeral Home, from 6-8 pm. There will be a graveside service at Mt Horeb Cemetary at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 3. Reverend Erin Kaye will officiate.

Blessings, and may 2012 be a wonderful year.
