Friends,
Matt Lyles posted the following update on his Carepages website:
Cycle 2 begins
After waiting for lab work I met with the oncologist around noon. He had very good news for me — all bloodwork in safe levels (white count good, red slightly lower but safe; kidney function okay; no negative indicators). I asked him if this is typical of someone beginning the second cycle. He said that my situation (especially given a previous round of Cisplatin 20 years ago) is better than average.
No matter what happens later, I’m thankful for this good news now! Thanks So Much for your prayers, friends!
Then came several hours in the infusion center. Today the treatment consisted of Cisplatin combined with Gemzar. I’m thankful to report no ill effects during treatment or — so far — afterward.
Knowing how cold the weather would be turning, I contacted the manager at Block 2 and asked if one of the staff would turn up my heat (which I forgot to do before leaving for work this morning. Apparently someone did. I walked in from near freezing air (with an even colder wind blowing) into a toasty warm apartment. (They’re good people here at Block 2!)
After getting a bite to eat I’ll probably settle down to sleep. Tomorrow is another day, someone sometime said.
Good night, Scarlett!
